The Assistant Manager – Spa supports the overall management and daily operations of the Spa and Wellness department at Aman-i-Khas, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and adherence to Aman’s service and wellness standards.
Working closely with the property leadership team, the role is responsible for overseeing spa operations, supporting and developing the spa team, maintaining treatment and hygiene standards, driving revenue opportunities, managing inventory and costs, and delivering highly personalised wellness experiences.
The Assistant Manager – Spa will demonstrate strong hands-on operational expertise, leadership capabilities, and a genuine passion for wellness and luxury hospitality.
- Support and oversee the daily operations of the Spa and Wellness department, ensuring the highest standards of service, cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
- Deliver highly personalised and intuitive wellness experiences in line with Aman’s service philosophy and brand standards.
- Supervise, motivate, train, and develop spa therapists and wellness colleagues to maintain consistently high performance standards.
- Conduct daily briefings, allocate duties, monitor appointments, and ensure smooth coordination of spa operations.
- Engage with guests, understand their wellness preferences, recommend suitable treatments and programmes, and handle guest feedback professionally.
- Support the achievement of departmental revenue targets through treatment recommendations, retail sales, packages, and other wellness initiatives.
- Monitor spa revenue, expenses, product consumption, inventory levels, and operational costs to support departmental financial performance.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of spa products, amenities, linens, equipment, and operating supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene, sanitation, and operational requirements.
- Maintain treatment rooms, wellness facilities, and equipment to the highest operational and presentation standards.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and other departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.
- Support the Spa Manager and property leadership in implementing wellness initiatives, seasonal programmes, guest experiences, and departmental projects.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and development of spa colleagues.
- Maintain accurate departmental reports, guest records, inventories, schedules, and other operational documentation.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in luxury wellness, spa therapies, holistic treatments, and guest preferences.
- Act as a departmental leader and role model, promoting teamwork, professionalism, Aman values, and a positive working environment.
- Minimum 6–7 years of relevant experience within luxury spa and wellness operations, preferably within five-star hotels, luxury resorts, or internationally recognised hospitality brands.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Spa and Wellness operations is required.
- Relevant qualification, diploma, or certification in Spa Management, Wellness, Beauty Therapy, Massage Therapy, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of spa operations, wellness treatments, guest consultation, hygiene standards, inventory management, and departmental administration.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop spa and wellness teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in driving spa revenue, treatment recommendations, retail sales, and cost management.
- Excellent guest engagement, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deliver highly personalised service and anticipate the needs and preferences of luxury travellers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a dynamic resort environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with spa management or hotel operating systems would be an advantage.
- Flexible, hands-on, and willing to support operational requirements, including weekends, public holidays, and seasonal business demands.
