About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Virtual Commissioning and Design Validation Engineer with 2 years of experience in automation and industrial systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and validating simulation models that help optimize processes, support design validation, and enable virtual commissioning of automation projects.
- Knowledge of SIEMENS Process simulate software and should know cell building from scratch, CAD segregation, kinematics, Conveyor definitions, Material flows efficiently.
- Knowledge of Input Output configurations, Input Output mapping, adding and removing signals whenever necessary.
- Develop and maintain digital twin models of machinery and automation systems using tools such as Siemens SIMIT, Technomatix Process Simulate, Emulate3D, or Factory I/O
- DCS Zones and Safemove-pro settings, Safe zones and Digital Outputs for machine-to-machine safety interlocks
- Know about PLC communication of Allen Bradley (studio 5000), and SIEMENS PLC (TIA17.18 and PLC SIM Advance)
- Perform virtual commissioning of PLC, HMI, and robot programs in simulated environments.
- Validate mechanical, electrical, and control system designs against functional requirements.
- Validation of interaction of various components in a cell, line or plant.
- Behavior model logic (Servo, VFD, Press machine)
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and process engineers to test and refine system designs.
- Cycle time analysis accuracy requirement (80% to 90 %)
- Collecting project related data from Client like CAD assembly files (possibly in .JT format), E-PLAN, P-PLAN, process flow, sequence charts, equipment details (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical), behavioural model details (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical).
- Identify design flaws and propose improvements early in the development cycle.
- Create and execute simulation test plans to ensure complete system coverage.
- Support the transition from virtual to physical commissioning and assist in on-site validation when required.
- Maintain documentation for all simulation models, test cases, and validation results.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with robotics simulation (e.g., ABB RobotStudio, FANUC ROBOGUIDE).
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives.
Exposure to Agile or model-based development practices.
