Position: STP Operator (Sewage Treatment Plant Operator)

Job Summary
The STP Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The role involves ensuring efficient treatment of wastewater, maintaining equipment, conducting chemical dosing, monitoring water quality parameters, and ensuring compliance with Pollution Control Board regulations for safe discharge or reuse of treated water.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant on a daily basis.
Conduct routine inspections of pumps, blowers, motors, pipelines, and other treatment equipment.
Perform chemical dosing as per operational requirements.
Monitor and record water quality parameters such as pH, TDS, BOD, COD, and other relevant indicators.
Maintain operational logs, treatment records, and daily reports.
Manage sludge handling, dewatering, and disposal activities.
Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the STP area.
Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations at all times.
Ensure treated water meets Pollution Control Board standards for discharge or recycling.
Coordinate with management and external agencies during inspections and audits.
Requirements
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience in operating STP/ETP systems is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and water quality testing.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work in shifts if required.
