Role Overview
As a Sales Intern – US Market, you will support the business development team in lead generation, outbound calling, prospect outreach, appointment scheduling, and client communication for the US market.
This role is ideal for candidates with excellent English communication skills, confidence in speaking with international clients, and an interest in sales, business development, and client engagement.
You will gain practical exposure to US-based B2B sales processes, outbound calling strategies, prospecting, CRM tools, and client communication.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Generation & Prospect Research
- Research and identify potential prospects and decision-makers across target organizations in the US market
- Build and maintain prospect databases through LinkedIn, online research, and relevant platforms
- Understand prospect requirements and identify opportunities for outreach
Outbound Calling & Client Outreach
- Make outbound calls to US-based prospects
- Reach out through emails and LinkedIn to initiate conversations
- Introduce SmartRoots solutions and create interest among potential clients
- Follow up with leads and maintain consistent communication
- Schedule meetings and discovery calls for the senior business development team
CRM & Reporting
- Update lead details, call outcomes, and follow-up status in CRM or internal trackers
- Maintain organized records of daily outreach activities
- Share daily/weekly activity reports and progress updates
Learning & Collaboration
- Develop an understanding of SmartRoots solutions and services
- Work closely with the business development team on outreach campaigns and strategies
- Participate in internal training sessions and sales discussions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills (Mandatory)
- Strong confidence in speaking with international prospects over calls
- Comfortable making cold calls and outbound outreach
- Strong interpersonal, persuasion, and communication skills
- Good listening and relationship-building abilities
- Comfortable using LinkedIn, Excel/Google Sheets, email platforms, and CRM tools
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong spoken English with a professional communication style
- Comfortable working in US shift timing (11:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
- Energetic, confident, and target-oriented personality
- Prior internship or exposure to calling, sales, or customer interaction is an added advantage
