KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and lead original design concepts for home furnishing products, fabrics, prints, embroideries, and surface developments
- Drive new product development initiatives based on market trends, buyer requirements, and innovation opportunities
- Create and review tech packs, flat sketches, CADs, and detailed design specifications for production teams
- Conduct trend research using forecasting tools, trade fairs, market analysis, and buyer briefs
- Coordinate with merchandising, sampling, and production teams to ensure design execution aligns with buyer expectations
- Develop and oversee seasonal collections for international markets
- Review and approve samples; provide corrective feedback to the sampling and production teams
- Maintain and manage design libraries, color palettes, mood boards, fabric swatches, and trim references
- Lead fabric, trims, and accessory sourcing relevant to home furnishing products
- Work extensively on CAD software for print, pattern, and design development
- Prepare and present design concepts, mood boards, and presentations during buyer meetings and internal reviews
- Mentor and support junior designers while ensuring consistency, creativity, and quality across the design team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
- 10–12 years of experience in a home furnishing export house or manufacturing company
- Strong proficiency in Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW
- Strong understanding of home furnishing fabrics, textile techniques, and manufacturing processes
- In-depth knowledge of global home décor trends, buyer preferences, and international markets
- Excellent creative, visualization, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple collections and product developments simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Strong team leadership and coordination skills
