Job Description: Environmental Engineer
We are looking for an Environmental Engineer with 6-7 years of experience for road construction projects in hilly terrain. The candidate will be responsible for environmental compliance, site monitoring, pollution control, statutory documentation, and implementation of environmental protection measures during highway, bridge, culvert, drainage, and slope protection works.
The candidate should have practical experience in environmental management for infrastructure or road projects, especially in sensitive hill areas where slope stability, drainage, vegetation, dust, muck disposal, and water protection are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor environmental management plans at project sites.
- Ensure compliance with environmental conditions, statutory approvals, consent requirements, and client/consultant instructions.
- Monitor dust control, noise control, water pollution prevention, waste management, and housekeeping at site.
- Supervise muck disposal, debris management, slope protection, drainage flow, and erosion control in hilly terrain.
- Ensure proper management of construction waste, used oil, hazardous waste, sewage, and solid waste.
- Monitor crusher plant, batching plant, WMM plant, hot mix plant, DG sets, workshops, labour camps, and fuel storage areas for environmental compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify environmental risks such as slope erosion, blocked drains, water contamination, unsafe dumping, and tree/vegetation damage.
- Coordinate plantation, turfing, bio-engineering, restoration, and green belt development activities as required.
- Maintain records related to environmental monitoring, waste disposal, water sprinkling, plantation, fuel storage, oil spill control, and compliance reports.
- Prepare daily/monthly environmental reports, inspection checklists, photographs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with project team, safety team, client, consultant, pollution control board, forest department, and local authorities as required.
- Conduct environmental awareness training/toolbox talks for staff, workers, operators, and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper drainage and sediment control during excavation, hill cutting, concreting, culvert works, and monsoon periods.
- Report non-compliance and recommend corrective actions to the Project Manager.
Required Qualification & Experience
- B.Tech/Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or relevant environmental qualification.
- 6-7 years of experience in road, highway, bridge, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Experience in hilly terrain road projects will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of environmental compliance, pollution control, waste management, and site documentation.
- Knowledge of statutory approvals, consent conditions, forest/environmental requirements, and environmental monitoring procedures will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
