Installer cum Programmer – Home Automation

About the Role
We are looking for an Installer cum Programmer – Home Automation who will be responsible for the installation, wiring, configuration, programming, testing and commissioning of home automation systems at residential and commercial project sites.
The candidate should have hands-on experience in electrical/electronic installation and a good understanding of KNX-based automation systems. The role requires both site execution and programming skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Home Automation Installation
- Install and configure home automation devices and equipment at project sites.
- Carry out installation of automation modules, sensors, actuators, touch panels, switches, dimmers and other automation products.
- Perform control panel and field-device installation as per project requirements.
- Handle wiring, termination, labelling and cable management.
- Read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and automation layouts.
- Ensure proper installation of devices as per project specifications.
2. KNX Programming & Configuration
- Perform KNX programming and configuration for home automation projects.
- Configure KNX devices using ETS software.
- Create and configure group addresses and communication objects.
- Program lighting, dimming, curtain/blind control, HVAC and other automation functions.
- Configure scenes, schedules and automation logic as required.
- Download and commission KNX programs into field devices.
- Troubleshoot KNX communication and programming-related issues.
3. Testing & Commissioning
- Test installed automation systems and verify proper functioning.
- Commission automation systems at project sites.
- Conduct point-to-point testing of devices.
- Identify and rectify wiring, communication and programming issues.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers during commissioning.
- Ensure the system is functioning according to the approved project requirements.
4. Site Execution
- Visit client/project sites for installation, programming and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with electricians, contractors, Project Engineers and other site teams.
- Ensure work is completed within the project timeline.
- Maintain proper documentation of installation and commissioning activities.
- Report site issues, material requirements and project progress to the reporting manager.
5. Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose hardware, wiring, network and programming-related issues.
- Provide technical support during installation and after commissioning.
- Attend site complaints related to automation systems.
- Identify the root cause of system failures and implement appropriate solutions.
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in Home Automation Installation.
- Good knowledge of KNX automation systems.
- Practical experience with KNX programming and ETS software.
- Understanding of KNX topology and bus communication.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and termination.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, switches and LAN connectivity.
- Ability to read electrical and automation drawings.
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, relays, dimmers and automation controllers.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical, networking and automation systems.
- Ability to use basic electrical testing tools and installation tools.
Preferred Knowledge
Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:

Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation or a related field.
- Candidates with strong practical experience in home automation may also be considered.

1–5 years of relevant experience in:

- Electrical Automation
- KNX Installation & Programming
- Smart Home Installation
- ELV / Automation Projects
Freshers with strong practical KNX knowledge and relevant training may also be considered for junior positions.

Pay: ₹366,383.60 - ₹701,476.17 per year
