Position: Safety Officer (SO)
Department: Safety
Reporting To: Plant Head / Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety laws, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Organize safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor the use of PPE and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and mock drills.
- Ensure contractor safety compliance within the plant premises.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and review footage to identify safety, security, and operational issues.
- Supervise security guards deployed in both shifts, ensure proper attendance, discipline, duty allocation, and optimum performance.
- Conduct regular security rounds and ensure effective gate control, visitor management, vehicle movement, and material in/out checks.
- Prepare and submit safety and security reports and recommend improvements to reduce risks and strengthen workplace safety.
Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science.
- Industrial Safety Diploma/Certificate preferred.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial operations As SO.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- CCTV monitoring and security management.
- Incident investigation and risk assessment.
- Good communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Reduction in accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Timely completion of safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- PPE and safety compliance across the plant.
- Effective CCTV monitoring and incident reporting.
- Security guard attendance, discipline, and performance management across both shifts.
- Reduction in security breaches, theft, unauthorized entry, and safety violations.
Working Conditions: Factory/Plant environment involving regular field inspections, CCTV monitoring, and supervision of safety and security operations.
Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
