Job Summary
An IT Executive is responsible for managing and supporting an organization's information technology infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and IT systems. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, implementing security measures, maintaining IT assets, and providing technical support to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, printers, and peripherals.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
- Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, email, and system-related issues.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Install software updates, security patches, and operating system upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Ensure data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures are followed.
- Maintain antivirus, firewall, and endpoint security solutions.
- Support IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
- Coordinate with external vendors for hardware procurement, maintenance, and technical support.
- Maintain IT inventory, asset records, and software licenses.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and organizational guidelines.
- Train employees on basic IT usage, cybersecurity awareness, and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to IT systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems administration (experience requirements may vary).
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN).
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and email systems.
- Familiarity with server administration and virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems is an added advantage.
