Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for chemicals and raw materials.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors to optimize cost efficiency.
- Ensure timely procurement of chemicals, lab supplies, and consumables as per production requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future chemical requirements to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Maintain purchase records, invoices, and contracts for audit and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with the production and R&D teams to understand chemical specifications and ensure quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations during procurement, storage, and handling.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to build a sustainable supply chain.
- Track market trends, new chemical products, and pricing to support cost optimization.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Proven experience (2–5 years) in chemical procurement or purchase department, preferably in manufacturing, pharma, or chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemical products, safety data sheets (MSDS), and compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Tally, or procurement software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
