Job Description:
Deputy Manager – Taxation (GST, Customs & Export Compliance)
Location - Shamshabad Plant, Hyderabad
Responsible for managing indirect tax compliance, handling notices, assessments, audits and refunds relating to GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and export incentives and Internal coordination with business and advise business to ensure 100% compliance in Shamshabad, Hyderabad Factory under the supervision and functional reporting to DGM – Indirect Tax. The role involves ensuring statutory compliance, optimizing tax processes, supporting business operations, and managing interactions with tax authorities
GST Compliance & Advisory

Ensure support and review of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, Job work returns ITC-04

Preparation and filing of different type of refund applications under GST, Customs and FTP

Coordination with Departments for sanction of Refunds, appearing for Personal hearings and other coordination.

Review and reconcile GST data with books of accounts, e-invoicing, and e-way bill reports.

Monitor input tax credit (ITC) eligibility and ensure compliance with GST provisions.

Address GST-related operational issues and provide tax advisory support to business teams.

Implement GST law changes and assess their impact on business operations.

Manage GST registrations, amendments, and compliance across multiple states.
Notices, Audit, Assessment under GST, Customs and FTP
-
To handle and support in departmental audits, scrutiny notices, investigations, and assessments.

Draft replies to notices, summons, and departmental communications.

Coordinate with consultants as and when required

Maintain tax documentation and support during internal and statutory audits.

Ensure compliance with Customs Act, Customs Tariff Act, and allied regulations.

Review import transactions involving customs duty, IGST, valuation, classification, and exemptions.

Manage customs-related documentation and coordinate with customs brokers.

Monitor utilization of customs exemptions, duty benefits, and trade facilitation schemes.

Support customs audits and departmental inquiries.
Exports & Foreign Trade Compliance

Ensure compliance with export regulations, FEMA requirements, and Foreign Trade Policy provisions.

Manage export documentation, LUT/Bond requirements, and GST refund processes.

Coordinate for export incentive schemes, duty remission benefits, and related claims.

Monitor realization of export proceeds and regulatory reporting requirements.

Support business teams on export transactions and international trade matters.
Stakeholder Management
-
Liaise with tax authorities, customs officials, auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Conducting awareness sessions with respect to above for internal stakeholders as and when required

Support management in tax planning and decision-making initiatives.
(External) English Qualifications:
What qualifications will make you successful?

CA / CMA / or equivalent professional qualification.
-
Additional certification in Customs, GST, or International Trade will be preferred.
Experience
-
4-6years of relevant experience in indirect taxation.
-
Strong exposure to GST, Customs, export-import transactions, and trade compliance.
-
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, energy, infrastructure, or multinational organizations preferred
-
Strong knowledge of GST laws, Customs regulations, and Foreign Trade Policy.

Expertise in GST audits, assessments, litigation, and refunds.
-
Understanding of export-import procedures and FEMA requirements.
-
Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
-
AI, Advanced Excel and tax reconciliation skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Attention to detail and compliance orientation.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
