Remote Video Editor
We are looking for a talented, creative, and highly reliable Video Editor to join our growing team.
This role involves editing content across a variety of projects, including personal brand content, social media videos, business and promotional content, and other creative projects.
The ideal candidate is not only a strong editor but also someone who is organized, proactive, communicative, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
About the Role
As our Video Editor, you will play an important role in bringing ideas and raw footage to life. You should understand how to create engaging content for today’s digital platforms while adapting your editing style to suit different projects and audiences.
Because this is a remote position, we are looking for someone who can manage their workload responsibly, communicate progress clearly, and take ownership of assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit engaging short-form content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Edit long-form videos, including YouTube and promotional content, when required.
- Edit content across multiple projects and brands.
- Add captions, music, sound effects, transitions, graphics, and other creative elements where appropriate.
- Follow creative briefs, reference videos, and project instructions.
- Adapt editing styles to suit different types of content.
- Organize raw footage, project files, and completed videos properly.
- Complete requested revisions and apply feedback accurately.
- Ensure videos meet quality standards before submission.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Keep assigned tasks and project progress updated using the company’s designated systems.
Communication & Daily Updates
Clear communication is essential to succeeding in this role.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Remain reasonably available and responsive during agreed working hours.
- Check work communication channels regularly.
- Communicate proactively about project progress.
- Notify the team as early as possible if an issue may affect a deadline.
- Provide a daily summary of work completed, including current progress and any outstanding tasks.
- Keep project statuses updated so the team has clear visibility into ongoing work.
We value open and professional communication and encourage team members to raise questions or concerns early rather than allowing issues to delay a project.
Working Independently
This role is well suited to someone who is self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
You should be able to:
- Manage your time effectively.

While support and direction will always be available when needed, the ideal candidate should be comfortable moving projects forward without requiring constant supervision or repeated reminders.
Reliability & Remote Work Setup
Applicants should have a reliable remote working environment, including:
- A computer capable of handling professional video editing.
- Reliable internet suitable for downloading and uploading video files.
- Access to appropriate video editing software.
- A dependable power or electricity arrangement.
- A reasonable backup plan for technical or connectivity issues whenever possible.
If a technical issue, internet outage, or other unexpected situation affects your ability to work, we expect timely communication so that projects and deadlines can be managed appropriately.
Deadlines & Accountability
Meeting deadlines and maintaining visibility over project progress are important parts of this role.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Complete projects within agreed timelines.
- Communicate in advance when a deadline may be affected.
- Provide realistic timelines for outstanding work.
- Keep track of revisions and unfinished assignments.
- Ensure projects are not left incomplete or overlooked.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience editing short-form and/or long-form video content.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your editing ability.
- Experience with professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
- Understanding of different video formats and aspect ratios for social media platforms.
- Experience adding captions, graphics, music, and sound effects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review work before submission.
