The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality planning, inspection, testing and compliance across the production line in line with customer requirements, company standards and approved quality plans.
What you’ll be doing:
Ensure a safe working environment in the laboratory and on the shop floor through strict adherence to safety norms and practices.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company quality standards, SOPs, product specifications and critical quality attributes.
Oversee testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods, and ensure accurate and timely recording of test data.
Analyse test results, identify deviations, report findings and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct process audits and support adherence to quality systems and internal controls.
Monitor production processes, identify process-related issues, carry out root cause analysis and implement action plans for resolution.
Handle customer complaints effectively by leading investigations and ensuring timely corrective action.
Support and coordinate process and system improvement initiatives, including continuous improvement projects and benchmarking activities.
Work closely with the production team to manage product changeovers and ensure quality consistency during transitions.
Issue test certificates and prepare periodic quality reports and performance summaries.
Ensure maintenance, calibration and readiness of laboratory equipment, gauges and instruments.
Drive 5S implementation and sustain good laboratory housekeeping standards.
Manage day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure effective execution of all lab activities.
Develop team capability through coaching, training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Maintain awareness and working knowledge of IMS requirements, relevant IS standards and continuous improvement practices

1. Bachelor of Engineering from a reputed institution, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
2. 8–12 years of relevant experience in the Quality function within a manufacturing plant.
3. Sound understanding of quality tools, testing methods and laboratory equipment.
4. Working knowledge of calibration processes for gauges, instruments and laboratory equipment.
5. Good knowledge of product quality requirements, process control and problem-solving methodologies such as root cause analysis.
6. Familiarity with continuous improvement practices, IMS requirements and applicable IS standards.
