Job Summary
The Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting technical and
commercial proposals in response to client requirements related to automation, emergency
warning surveillance, Analytics, Power Utility Automation, Instrumentation, DCS, PLC/SCADA
etc. The role involves close coordination with the Sales, Engineering, and Procurement teams to
ensure accurate, competitive, and timely proposals.
Job Responsibilities:
Preparation of DPRs, technical documentation, cost estimation, technical specification
compliance, approach and methodology, detailed system architecture, and best-fit
solution architectural preparation
Working closely with the Sales, Marketing and Service teams to understand and
incorporate customer requirements into proposals
Coordinating with Procurement teams and, when required, working with vendors to
obtain techno-commercial offers for proposals
Ensuring that the most cost-effective solutions are developed and proposed
Participating in techno-commercial reviews and meetings with customers for key
projects
Maintaining proper documentation of all records in line with departmental quality
procedures
Preparation of costings and budgets
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of engineering concepts relevant to industry
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good knowledge of costing, estimation, and commercial terms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and presentation tools
Qualification and Experience
BE, BTech, or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control or similar.
Minimum 2 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, or pre-sales
support
Experience in assisting with projects or managing project-related tasks, including
interaction with internal and external customers
Experience in handling tenders and technical documentation is preferred
Prior work experience in proposal.
