Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and energetic Art & Craft Teacher to join our faculty. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in nurturing students’ self-expression, motor skills, and aesthetic appreciation. The ideal candidate is skilled in a wide variety of artistic mediums (2D and 3D) and possesses the classroom management skills required to maintain a safe, inspiring, and collaborative workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Design & Deliver Lessons: Plan and execute engaging, age-appropriate lessons covering drawing, painting, sketching, clay modeling, paper crafts, textiles, and mixed media.
- Teach Core Art Principles: Introduce students to basic color theory, design concepts, and the safe and effective use of various art tools.
- Integrate Art History: Cultivate an appreciation for diverse global cultures, art history, and traditional craft forms.
- Support Diverse Learners: Adapt instructional techniques to meet different learning styles, helping every student build confidence in their unique creative voice.
2. Studio & Material Management
- Maintain Art Supplies: Monitor, organize, and manage the inventory of art supplies, ordering new materials within the allocated budget.
- Ensure Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom/studio environment. Instruct students on the correct handling of sharp tools, glues, and clay equipment.
3. School Events & Community Engagement
- Organize Exhibitions: Curate, prepare, and display student artwork for school galleries, parent-teacher meetings, and local art competitions.
- Campus Decoration: Design and assist in creating backdrops, props, and decorations for school plays, cultural festivals, and annual day events.
- Cross-Disciplinary Projects: Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate art into history, science, or literature projects.
4. Assessment & Communication
- Track Progress: Evaluate student participation, technique, and progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Parent-Teacher Collaboration: Maintain professional communication with parents regarding their child's creative development and behavioral progress.
Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA/MFA), Art Education, Applied Arts, or equivalent.
- Certification: Teaching license/certification in Art Education (preferred or required depending on the school's regional guidelines).
- Experience: 1–3 years of teaching experience in a school or community workshop setting (experience with younger children is highly valued).
Key Competencies
- Versatility in Mediums: Expert knowledge of painting (watercolors, acrylics), sketching, origami, clay work, and sculpting.
- Classroom Management: Excellent ability to engage a class of 20+ students, keeping them focused while giving individual attention.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
