Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structure Wielder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, welding, repairing, and reinforcing structural steel and metal components according to engineering drawings and project specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Weld structural steel components using MIG, TIG, SMAW, or FCAW processes.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structural frameworks.
- Inspect welded joints for quality and structural integrity.
- Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Repair damaged metal structures and perform maintenance welding.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and construction teams.
- Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Complete work within project timelines while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in welding from a recognized institution preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in structural welding or metal fabrication.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and installation.
- Familiarity with OSHA or applicable workplace safety standards.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Structural welding certification (AWS or equivalent).
- Experience with bridge, commercial, or industrial construction.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
