About the Opportunity
Meenaar Global Consultants LLP (MGCLLP) is inviting applications from experienced and technically competent MDPE Engineers to join our ongoing GAIL Gas Project Management Consultancy (PMC) project at Mirzapur.
This is a client-side PMC role responsible for supervision, quality assurance, inspection, project monitoring, contractor performance evaluation, documentation, and ensuring compliance with GAIL Gas, PNGRB, and project specifications throughout the execution of City Gas Distribution (CGD) infrastructure works.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
As an MDPE Engineer (PMC), you will:
Supervise and monitor the installation, jointing, testing, and commissioning of MDPE pipelines, GI pipeline installations, and DPNG connections for City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks.
Monitor trenching, excavation, laying, backfilling, reinstatement, and restoration activities as per approved construction methodology.
Ensure contractor activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, GAIL Gas standards, PNGRB regulations, and applicable safety requirements.
Verify Electrofusion (EF) and Butt Fusion (BF) jointing processes, operator qualifications, welding records, and quality documentation.
Witness and review pressure testing, pneumatic testing, leakage testing, purging, and commissioning activities.
Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality workmanship, material compliance, and adherence to approved construction procedures.
Maintain inspection reports, quality records, material reconciliation reports, test certificates, and as-built documentation.
Identify non-conformities (NCRs), recommend corrective actions, and monitor closure of observations.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, environmental requirements, and safe construction practices.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, site observations, and project status updates.
Coordinate effectively with GAIL Gas officials, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
Support internal audits, client inspections, regulatory inspections, and project documentation.
Review contractor performance and provide recommendations for contract closure, including:
Time Extension (EOT) recommendations
Material reconciliation
Verification of final bills
Review of deviations and variations
Closure documentation and contractual compliance
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Pipeline Engineering, or a related discipline (Mandatory)
Experience
5–8 years of relevant experience in MDPE, GI Pipeline, DPNG, or City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects.
Prior experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Owner's Engineer, Client-side supervision, or Third-Party Inspection is preferred.
Experience in GAIL Gas, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, Adani Gas, THINK Gas, Torrent Gas, or other CGD projects will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of MDPE pipeline installation, electrofusion and butt fusion jointing techniques.
Experience in GI pipeline installation and DPNG connection activities.
Good understanding of pressure testing, commissioning, and quality inspection procedures.
Familiarity with PNGRB regulations, CGD standards, and HSE practices.
Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and contractor performance monitoring.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and project procedures.
