Role Purpose
Own assigned customer orders from production planning through final dispatch. The engineer will translate drawings and delivery commitments into executable shop-floor plans, coordinate materials and outside processes, control quality and progress, resolve bottlenecks, and keep internal teams and customers informed.
Key Responsibilities
- Order handover & planning: Review customer PO, drawings, BOM, specifications, quantities, quality requirements and delivery dates; identify missing or conflicting information before production release.
- Production control: Prepare job-wise production plans, daily priorities and routing across cutting, punching/laser, bending, welding, grinding, drilling, assembly, finishing and packing.
- Resource coordination: Coordinate manpower, machines, tools, fixtures, consumables and material availability with stores, purchase, quality and production supervisors.
- Project ownership: Maintain order trackers, monitor milestones and ensure timely completion of trials, first-off approval, batch production, inspection and dispatch.
- Drawing-to-shop-floor execution: Interpret fabrication and assembly drawings, clarify tolerances, weld requirements and inspection points, and provide clear work instructions to operators and contractors.
- Subcontractor control: Plan and follow up outside processes such as machining, galvanizing, plating, powder coating or painting; verify quantity, quality and turnaround.
- Quality & corrective action: Control dimensional accuracy, fit-up, weld quality, surface finish and assembly; investigate rejection, rework and customer complaints using practical root-cause and corrective-action methods.
- Delivery coordination: Coordinate final inspection, documentation, packing, dispatch readiness and logistics so that committed dates are met without compromising quality.
- Customer communication: Provide factual progress updates, raise technical or schedule risks early, coordinate clarifications and support inspection or visit requirements.
- Improvement & reporting: Track output, productivity, rejection, rework and schedule adherence; improve process flow, jigs/fixtures, work methods and documentation.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in sheet-metal fabrication, structural fabrication, formwork, scaffolding, construction equipment or similar project-based manufacturing.
- Hands-on exposure to fabrication processes such as laser/plasma cutting or punching, CNC bending, MIG/CO₂ welding, grinding, drilling, assembly and surface finishing.
- Ability to read 2D fabrication drawings, GD&T basics, BOMs, weld symbols and customer specifications.
- Working knowledge of production planning, material control, process sequencing, inspection and dispatch documentation.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with ERP/MRP, AutoCAD or a drawing viewer is desirable.
- Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical, Production or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Formwork-product experience is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with strong fabrication and project-execution experience.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹725,000.00 per year
