Job Summary
The Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for children and families visiting Astrobees. The role requires creativity, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes.
Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
Prepare snacks, beverages, party food, and special event menus.
Ensure timely food service during peak hours, birthdays, and events.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Monitor food stock levels and minimize wastage.
Assist in menu planning and introducing new child-friendly items.
Inventory Management
Check and receive food supplies from vendors.
Maintain stock records and report shortages.
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and adherence to expiry dates.
Quality & Safety
Ensure compliance with FSSAI and local food safety regulations.
Conduct regular checks of kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs.
Maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Customer Experience
Ensure food served meets customer expectations.
Accommodate special dietary requirements where possible.
Support café operations during parties, workshops, and special events.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor.
Knowledge of Indian, Continental, and café-style cuisine.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Positive attitude and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Culinary certification or hospitality training.
Experience in family entertainment centers, cafés, or restaurants.
Knowledge of preparing children's menu items and party catering.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Food quality and customer satisfaction.
Kitchen hygiene audit scores.
Food cost and wastage control.
Timely service during peak hours and events.
Inventory accuracy and stock management.
Working Hours: As per café operational requirements, including weekends and holidays.
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
