Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete design and development of Packaging Machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), and customized automation solutions based on customer requirements and industry standards.
- Create, modify, and review complex 2D manufacturing drawings and detailed 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Design individual machine components, sub-assemblies, complete machine assemblies, and integrated mechanical systems with a focus on performance, reliability, safety, and ease of manufacturing.
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, machining drawings, assembly drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, exploded views, and installation drawings for production and customer documentation.
- Develop, maintain, and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering change requests (ECR/ECO), design documentation, technical specifications, manuals, and revision control in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform engineering calculations, component selection, tolerance analysis, material selection, and design validation to ensure machine functionality, durability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Purchase Department teams to ensure smooth execution of projects from concept to final delivery.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, fabrication, machining, assembly, machine testing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting to resolve design-related issues efficiently.
- Participate in customer discussions to understand technical requirements, prepare design concepts, review specifications, and implement customer-specific modifications.
- Conduct design reviews, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to improve machine performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
- Mentor and guide junior design engineers by reviewing their work, providing technical direction, sharing best engineering practices, and supporting their professional development.
- Drive continuous product improvement initiatives by optimizing existing machine designs, reducing manufacturing costs, standardizing components, improving assembly efficiency, and enhancing machine performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, quality systems, safety regulations, and company design procedures throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for technical discussions, component development, drawing clarification, and procurement support whenever required.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, design records, revision history, and technical files to support production, quality, and future product enhancements.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in mechanical design, manufacturing technologies, automation, packaging machinery, and CAD software to continuously improve engineering capabilities and product innovation.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
