Aakash Institute is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the Vashi Branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, assisting in statutory compliance, and ensuring accurate accounting practices in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accounting records, ledgers, and financial transactions.
- Process fee collections, receipts, payments, and bank deposits.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily cash flow.
- Prepare vouchers, invoices, and supporting financial documentation.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Verify and process employee reimbursements and vendor payments.
- Maintain records of student fee collections and outstanding dues.
- Support GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Coordinate with auditors and finance teams during audits and reviews.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
- Assist in budget tracking and expense monitoring.
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance functions.
- Freshers with strong accounting knowledge may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally ERP/Tally Prime.
- Understanding of GST, TDS, and basic taxation procedures.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the education sector will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and fee management processes.
