Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Spanish Interpreter for on-site/in-person meetings to support our international client collaborations in the LATAM region.
The primary role is to facilitate clear and accurate Spanish ↔ English communication between the Gesco Healthcare team and Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders, including:
- Doctors and surgeons
- Medical device distributors
- Hospital representatives
- Regulatory consultants/consultancies
- Healthcare and business partners
The interpreter will support client-facing discussions involving medical devices, product presentations, business development, distribution, partnerships, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional Spanish ↔ English interpretation during on-site meetings and client visits.
- Facilitate communication during business meetings, factory visits, product presentations, technical discussions, and negotiations.
- Support discussions related to LATAM distributor expansion, lead generation, partnerships, and market development.
- Interpret medical, technical, commercial, and regulatory discussions accurately while maintaining the intended meaning and context.
- Assist during medical conferences, exhibitions, and other in-person business engagements when required.
- Communicate professionally with doctors, surgeons, distributors, hospitals, and regulatory consultants.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client, business, technical, and regulatory information.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong spoken communication skills.
- Proven experience in professional interpretation, preferably in healthcare, medical devices, technical, or business settings.
- Good understanding of medical and healthcare terminology; medical device experience is preferred.
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret technical and business discussions accurately and professionally.
- Professional conduct and confidence in client-facing meetings.
- Chennai-based candidates are strongly preferred due to the on-site nature of the role.
- Familiarity with LATAM healthcare, distributors, hospitals, or regulatory environments will be an advantage.
Work Arrangement
- Freelance / Contract-Based
- On-Site / In-Person Assignments
- This is an occasional, assignment-based opportunity and is not a full-time or daily position.
- Interpretation support will be required only when Spanish-speaking clients or stakeholders have scheduled in-person meetings or visits.
- The interpreter will be informed in advance whenever an assignment/meeting is scheduled, based on business and client requirements.
- Assignments may include client meetings, factory visits, product presentations, business discussions, conferences, and exhibitions in Chennai.
- Typical meeting duration: 6 to 8 Hours, depending on the assignment.
- Occasional short-notice assignments may arise based on client requirements.
- The role is suitable for a freelance interpreter who can take up assignments on an as-needed basis.
Compensation
Professional fees will be discussed based on experience, interpretation expertise, and assignment scope.
Payment may be structured per meeting, hourly, or per assignment. (Rs. 300-500/ Hour)
