ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Student Counsellor, you will be responsible for interacting with students and parents, understanding their academic requirements, providing information about our courses and programs, and assisting them throughout the admission and enrolment process.
The role requires a combination of communication, counselling, follow-up, student relationship management, and coordination skills.
You will play an important role in helping students and parents make informed decisions about their academic preparation and choose the right program according to their requirements.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYStudent Counselling
- Interact with students and parents to understand their academic needs, goals, interests, and concerns.
- Provide appropriate information and guidance regarding available courses and programs.
- Help students understand the benefits, structure, and suitability of different courses.
- Address basic academic and course-related queries professionally.
- Maintain a friendly, supportive, and professional approach while counselling students.
Admission and Enquiry Management
- Handle enquiries received through telephone calls, WhatsApp, website, social media, and other communication channels.
- Provide accurate information about courses, batches, class schedules, fees, study materials, tests, and other facilities.
- Explain the admission and enrolment process clearly to prospective students and parents.
- Follow up with interested students and parents regularly.
- Convert genuine enquiries into admissions through effective communication and counselling.
Parent and Student Communication
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with students and parents.
- Respond to queries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Keep students and parents informed about relevant academic programs, classes, counselling sessions, and institute activities.
- Understand student concerns and coordinate with the concerned academic team whenever required.
Follow-Up and Student Relationship Management
- Maintain systematic records of enquiries, counselling sessions, follow-ups, and admissions.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with prospective students.
- Monitor the progress of admission-related conversations.
- Maintain communication with existing students when required.
- Assist in improving student engagement and retention.
Coordination and Support
- Coordinate with teachers, mentors, academic coordinators, and the management team.
- Assist in organising student counselling sessions, seminars, orientation programs, and academic events.
- Support the institute's student outreach and promotional activities.
- Provide feedback to the management regarding student requirements and common enquiries.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Confident and presentable.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication.
- Comfortable speaking with students and parents.
- Patient, polite, and empathetic.
- Good at understanding people's requirements.
- Strong in follow-up and relationship management.
- Responsible and organised in their work.
- Comfortable working in a target-oriented environment.
- Interested in the education and academic counselling sector.
Preferred Skills:
- Good command of Bengali, Hindi, and English.
- Basic knowledge of school education and competitive examination preparation.
- Good telephone etiquette.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to maintain enquiry and admission records.
- Prior experience in student counselling, academic counselling, admission counselling, education sales, or customer relationship management will be an advantage.
Freshers with excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also encouraged to apply.
