Job Summary
The MEP Supervisor is responsible for supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems at construction sites. The role ensures that all MEP works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules while coordinating with civil, architectural, and other project teams.

Key Responsibilities Site Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day MEP installation activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, fire alarm, and ELV systems.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate daily activities of MEP technicians, subcontractors, and labor teams.
- Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of MEP activities.
- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues in coordination with the MEP Engineer.
Coordination
- Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural, and architectural teams to avoid conflicts and delays.
- Attend site coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
- Ensure availability of materials, tools, equipment, and manpower for planned activities.
- Coordinate with procurement and store departments for timely material delivery.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Inspect MEP installations to ensure compliance with quality standards and approved shop drawings.
- Verify installation methods and workmanship before inspections.
- Assist consultants and clients during inspections and testing.
- Prepare and close punch lists/snag lists before project handover.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for non-conforming work.
Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Verify functionality and performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and commissioning teams during system testing.
- Ensure all systems are operational before project handover.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and implement corrective measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe work practices.
Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Verify receipt and proper storage of MEP materials and equipment.
- Monitor productivity of subcontractors and workforce.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of tools and equipment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily work progress reports and manpower records.
- Record inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain installation checklists and quality documentation.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documentation.
- Report project progress and issues to the MEP Engineer or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in MEP supervision within the real estate and construction industry.
- Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use building projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, fire alarm, ELV, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures.
- Knowledge of construction quality standards and safety regulations.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with BIM/Revit is an advantage.
