Radiology Technicians, also known as Radiologic Technologists, specialize in imaging techniques such as X-ray.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
- Position radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient’s body
- Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
- Use digital imaging technology or traditional film to capture images
- Follow physicians’ orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their co-workers from unnecessary exposure
- Review and evaluate developed x-rays or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
