Coordinator – Medical Social Worker
Symbiosis Lavale Campus, Pune
Key Responsibilities
- Provide social work support, counselling, and assistance to students, staff, patients, and their families in medical and healthcare-related situations.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, counsellors, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals for appropriate medical support.
- Assess the social, emotional, and financial needs of individuals requiring medical assistance and facilitate suitable support.
- Assist patients and families in understanding available medical services, procedures, and support systems.
- Coordinate referrals to hospitals, specialists, government schemes, NGOs, and other relevant agencies whenever required.
- Maintain proper case records, documentation, reports, and follow-up details while ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide support during medical emergencies and coordinate with the concerned departments for timely assistance.
- Follow up on patients' medical treatment, rehabilitation, recovery, and other social support requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, healthcare institutions, NGOs, social organizations, and government agencies.
- Assist in organizing health awareness programmes, medical camps, counselling sessions, and community outreach activities.
- Support individuals and families in accessing eligible government healthcare schemes, financial assistance, and welfare programmes.
- Coordinate with internal departments for smooth handling of medical and social welfare-related matters.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and updates related to cases, referrals, activities, and outcomes.
- Maintain strict professional ethics, confidentiality, and sensitivity while handling personal and medical information.
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the management related to medical social work and student/staff welfare.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) from a recognized institution.
- Specialization in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work / Medical Social Work will be preferred.
Experience
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Medical Social Work, Hospital Social Work, Healthcare Institutions, NGOs, or similar environments.
- Experience in coordinating with hospitals, doctors, healthcare professionals, and social welfare organizations will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
