Position Overview
The Department of Pharmacy invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and research-oriented candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, mentoring students, contributing to laboratory development, and actively participating in departmental research and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Academic & Teaching:
- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in Pharmaceutics, Novel Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS), Industrial Pharmacy, and Physical Pharmaceutics to B.Pharm and M.Pharm students.
- Design modern course materials, lesson plans, lab manuals, and innovative pedagogical methods aligned with Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) norms.
- Conduct internal assessments, end-semester evaluations, and maintain academic performance records.
Research & Innovation:
- Drive research initiatives in formulation development, drug delivery systems, and pharmaceutical technology.
- Publish high-quality research papers in peer-reviewed, indexed journals (SCOPUS / Web of Science).
- Guide undergraduate project work and postgraduate research theses.
- Seek research grants, consultancy projects, and industry collaborations.
Administrative & Departmental:
- Assist in maintaining PCI compliance, NBA/NAAC accreditation documentation, and departmental audits.
- Manage and upgrade Pharmaceutics laboratories and oversee equipment maintenance.
- Participate in faculty development programs (FDPs), seminars, conferences, and workshops.
- Serve as an academic mentor/advisor to assigned student groups.
Eligibility Criteria & QualificationsRequirementDetailsEducationEssential: B.Pharm and M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics with First Class (or equivalent grade point average) at either level from a PCI-recognized institution.DesirablePh.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics specialization) completed or near completion.RegistrationMandatory registration as a Registered Pharmacist with any State Pharmacy Council in India.Experience0 to 3+ years of teaching/research/industrial experience. Fresh Ph.D. graduates or exceptional postgraduates with strong academic credentials are encouraged to apply.Key Competencies & Skills
- Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations, biopharmaceutics, and scale-up techniques.
- Hands-on proficiency with pharmaceutical equipment (e.g., tablet compression machine, dissolution apparatus, HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, rotary evaporator).
- Strong communication, classroom management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in handling academic management systems and modern educational technology tools.
