Job Summary
ABODE School is seeking for a Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher who is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students. The teacher will plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons, foster a love for learning, and collaborate with parents and colleagues to ensure each child's holistic growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies (EVS), and other assigned subjects.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Use interactive, inquiry-based, and hands-on teaching strategies.
- Integrate technology and creative learning methods into classroom instruction.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Establish classroom routines and behavioural expectations.
- Encourage independence, responsibility, and positive social interactions among students.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students throughout the school day.
Student Assessment
- Monitor student progress through regular observations and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Prepare report cards and participate in parent-teacher meetings.
Student Development
- Foster students' confidence, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Support the emotional and social development of every child.
- Identify students requiring additional support and collaborate with the school's support team.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in parent orientation sessions, PTMs, and school events.
- Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in school assemblies, celebrations, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan curriculum and school programmes.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training programmes.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent qualification.
- Degree in Education, English, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience in Primary School, preferably Grade 1.
- Experience with CBSE, Cambridge, or integrated curriculum is an added advantage.
