Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – NPD will be responsible for end-to-end development of new production parts (sheet metal stamping & machined components) from RFQ to SOP. The role focuses on process development, customer coordination, and production readiness, and does not include toolroom ownership.
Project Management
- Manage complete lifecycle: RFQ → Feasibility → Process Planning → Trials → PPAP → SOP
- Ensure on-time launch of new components
- Track milestones and escalate delays proactively
Feasibility & Process Planning
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility for stamping & machining parts
- Define process flow, routing, and cycle time
- Identify risks related to capacity, tolerances, and process limitations
- Ensure production line readiness in coordination with operations
Customer Coordination
- Act as SPOC for customers during development phase
- Handle RFQ discussions, technical clarifications, and engineering changes
- Ensure timely submission of samples and documents
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with:
- Production (Press Shop & Machining)
- Quality
- Purchase (RM & outsourcing)
- Toolroom (status follow-up only)
- Ensure alignment across teams for smooth project execution
Trial & Validation
- Plan and execute production trials (excluding tool trials ownership)
- Monitor first-off samples and pilot runs
- Ensure parts meet dimensional and functional requirements
Quality & Documentation
- Lead APQP activities
- Ensure timely completion of:
- PPAP submissions
- Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Sheets
- Drive root cause analysis for development issues
Cost & Productivity
- Ensure development within target cost
- Drive cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and process improvements
- Support VA/VE initiatives
Understanding of:
- APQP, PPAP, PFMEA
- Production process planning
Exp:12+ Years
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
