Job Description – Production Engineer (Drymix Plant)

Position Summary
The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing Drymix production operations to ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining quality, safety, productivity, and cost efficiency. The role involves process monitoring, manpower management, machine utilization, continuous improvement, and coordination with Maintenance, Quality, Stores, and Dispatch teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations
- Execute daily production plans as per the production schedule.
- Monitor Drymix manufacturing processes including raw material feeding, batching, mixing, packing, and palletizing.
- Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity, machinery, and manpower.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Process & Productivity
- Monitor production parameters and optimize cycle time.
- Reduce downtime, rejection, wastage, and process losses.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance productivity.
Quality Management
- Ensure products are manufactured as per approved quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for in-process inspections and product testing.
- Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain batch records and production documentation accurately.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the Maintenance Department.
- Ensure production equipment is operating efficiently.
- Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities immediately.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and statutory regulations.
- Promote safe work practices and conduct toolbox talks.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all production employees.
- Maintain housekeeping standards as per 5S guidelines.
Team Management
- Supervise operators and production staff during shifts.
- Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
- Train operators on SOPs, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and team performance.
Inventory & Material Management
- Coordinate with Stores for timely availability of raw materials and packing materials.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Maintain accurate production and material usage records.
Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports and KPI dashboards.
- Analyze production efficiency, OEE, downtime, and rejection trends.
- Present improvement recommendations to management.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Chemical, or related Engineering.
Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in manufacturing or Drymix/Construction Chemicals/Cement/Building Materials industries.
- Experience in automated batching, mixing, and packing systems will be preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
