Job Summary
The Head of Electrical Department is responsible for overseeing the entire electrical function of the paper mill, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, maintenance of electrical systems, safety compliance, and optimization of energy usage. The role involves leading a team, planning preventive maintenance, and ensuring smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Operations Management
- Ensure continuous and reliable power supply to all plant operations
- Oversee operation of HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, motors, drives, and control systems
- Monitor electrical load management and distribution
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
- Handle breakdown maintenance and ensure minimum downtime
- Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions
3. Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and supervise electrical engineers, technicians, and staff
- Allocate duties and ensure efficient manpower utilization
- Conduct performance reviews and skill development
4. Project & Installation Work
- Manage electrical projects, upgrades, and new installations
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors
- Ensure timely completion within budget
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards and statutory regulations
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective measures
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance records
6. Energy Management
- Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving measures
- Optimize power factor, reduce losses, and improve efficiency
