Job Title: Junior Cost Accountant
Job Location: Ahmedabad Note: Once in a week need to travel to the plant location at Karjan.
Key Responsibilities:
Costing & Cost Analysis
- Prepare and maintain product-wise cost sheets for dairy products such as milk, curd, butter, ghee, cheese, ice cream, and other value-added products.
- Analyze raw material, packaging material, labor, utility, and overhead costs.
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Conduct monthly cost variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor inventory valuation of raw materials, packing materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock reports.
- Analyze material consumption and wastage trends across production processes.
- Assist in monthly and annual stock audits.
Budgeting & MIS
- Support preparation of annual budgets and cost forecasts.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports related to production costs, plant performance, and profitability.
- Track budget versus actual expenses and highlight significant deviations.
- Assist in preparing management reports for decision-making.
Manufacturing Cost Control
- Monitor milk procurement costs and processing losses.
- Analyze production yields, process losses, and efficiency metrics.
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure accurate allocation of manufacturing overheads across product categories.
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain costing records and supporting documentation.
- Assist in statutory audits, internal audits, and cost audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support ERP-based costing and reporting activities.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting.
- Experience in manufacturing or dairy/FMCG industry preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data Analysis).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in dairy, food processing, FMCG, or manufacturing industry.
- Exposure to product costing, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with dairy manufacturing processes and yield calculations will be an added advantage.
