Job Summary
The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychological interventions for patients with emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and mental health concerns. The role involves conducting psychological evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing psychotherapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological and psychometric tests.
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment strategies as required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
Patient Care & Counseling
- Provide counseling and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Assist patients in coping with stress, trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions.
- Offer crisis intervention and psychological first aid when necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding mental health conditions and treatment approaches.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings, and treatment planning.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists and community resources when required.
Training & Education
- Conduct mental health awareness programs, workshops, and educational sessions.
- Support training activities for interns, trainees, and healthcare staff.
- Participate in continuous professional development and clinical supervision activities.
Quality & Compliance
- Adhere to ethical guidelines, professional standards, and hospital policies.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree (M.Phil./PsyD preferred) in Clinical Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the appropriate professional/regulatory body as applicable.
- Valid license/certification to practice Clinical Psychology.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, mental health center, or clinical setting preferred.
- Fresh candidates with required qualifications may also be considered for junior positions.

Location: Al Azhar Medical College & Super Specialty Hospital, Thodupuzha.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
