The PRT Social Studies Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in Social Studies, including basic concepts of History, Geography, Civics, and General Awareness. The teacher will help students develop curiosity, critical thinking, social awareness, and a positive understanding of their surroundings and society.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons as per the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, activities, question papers, and assessment materials.
- Use activity-based and interactive teaching methods to make learning interesting and effective.
- Develop students’ understanding of basic concepts in History, Geography, Civics, and General Awareness.
- Encourage students to participate in discussions, activities, quizzes, and classroom interactions.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain classroom discipline and create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Introduce age-appropriate current affairs and real-life examples to enhance students’ awareness.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, and progress reports.
- Communicate students’ progress and concerns with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings.
- Participate in school events, celebrations, and co-curricular activities.
- Organise and support activities such as Social Science projects, quizzes, exhibitions, and presentations.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and coordinators for academic planning and student development.
- Provide appropriate academic support and mentoring to students as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Science, or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. qualification as applicable to the PRT level.
- CTET / State TET qualification preferred, if applicable.

Experience
- 1–3 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in a CBSE school will be an added advantage.
- Freshers with the required qualifications and a strong interest in teaching may also be considered.
