About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Accidental Bodyshop Manager to manage the complete operations of our accidental/bodyshop department, particularly for commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of automobile parts, commercial vehicle repair processes, insurance claims, estimation, team handling, and workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the accidental/bodyshop department.
- Handle accident repair and bodyshop work for commercial vehicles.
- Coordinate the complete repair process from vehicle inspection to final delivery.
- Ensure timely completion of repair jobs while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare and verify repair estimates, job cards, and billing.
- Handle insurance claims, surveys, approvals, and claim-related documentation.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, surveyors, customers, technicians, and other departments.
- Ensure proper identification and availability of required auto parts and components.
- Maintain strong knowledge of commercial vehicle parts, body components, mechanical parts, and replacement requirements.
- Monitor work progress and ensure vehicles are delivered within committed timelines.
- Manage and supervise bodyshop technicians and supporting staff.
- Allocate jobs to team members and monitor productivity.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment, and workshop resources.
- Handle customer queries and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor workshop performance, pending jobs, delivery status, and productivity.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of workshop records and reports.
- Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, discipline, and 5S standards.
- Identify operational issues and take corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an accidental/bodyshop or automobile workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of auto parts and automobile components.
- Good knowledge of commercial vehicles, preferably Tata Motors commercial vehicles.
- Practical understanding of accidental vehicle repair and bodyshop operations.
- Knowledge of insurance claim processing and surveyor coordination.
- Experience in preparing estimates, job cards, and repair bills.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
- Good customer handling and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles/jobs simultaneously.
- Good knowledge of workshop processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office / Excel and workshop-related reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet vehicle delivery timelines.
