Job Overview
Sukudo Studios is looking for a Recording Engineer / Dubbing Engineer to join our growing studio team. We are seeking someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and passionate about audio production, with 0–4 years of experience in recording, dubbing, voice-over, or studio operations.
This role is ideal for candidates who have a solid understanding of audio fundamentals, recording workflows, dubbing sessions, studio equipment, and artist coordination. Freshers with strong practical training and a genuine interest in studio recording are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and manage dubbing, voice-over, and voice recording sessions with artists
- Set up and operate microphones, preamps, headphones, audio interfaces, and studio recording equipment
- Conduct sound checks and ensure recordings are clean, balanced, and free from noise or technical issues
- Guide, cue, and communicate effectively with voice artists during sessions
- Maintain proper recording levels, gain staging, and overall session quality
- Perform basic editing tasks such as:
- Breath removal
- Cleaning takes
- Comping
- Cutting and organizing recordings
- Organize session files, folder structures, naming conventions, and backups systematically
- Identify and troubleshoot recording issues such as clipping, plosives, sibilance, distortion, and background noise
- Ensure all studio equipment is maintained and functioning properly
- Coordinate with internal teams and support mixing engineers / technical team members as needed
- Work efficiently in a high-volume production environment while maintaining quality standards and turnaround timelines
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of audio engineering and recording fundamentals
- Knowledge of:
- Gain staging
- Microphone placement
- Signal flow
- Monitoring levels
- Room acoustics basics
- Hands-on experience with at least one DAW such as:
- Pro Tools
- Logic Pro
- Cubase
- Ableton Live
- or similar
- Understanding of sample rate, bit depth, recording formats, and session setup
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of:
- EQ
- Compression
- Noise reduction / cleanup
- Ability to identify and manage issues like:
- Clipping
- Plosives
- Sibilance
- Unwanted noise
- Distortion
- Comfortable handling condenser microphones, preamps, headphones, and studio hardware
- Good communication skills and confidence in working directly with voice artists and studio teams
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work under deadlines
Eligibility / Qualifications
- 0–4 years of experience as a Recording Engineer, Dubbing Engineer, Audio Engineer, or in a similar studio role
- Freshers with strong practical knowledge of recording and dubbing workflows may also apply
- Diploma, degree, or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Technology, Music Production, or a related field is preferred
