An Office Boy (also known as an office attendant or peon) ensures the smooth daily operation of a business by handling facility maintenance, pantry services, and basic clerical tasks. They support staff by managing office supplies, running errands, and maintaining a clean, professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pantry Management: Prepare and serve tea, coffee, and water to staff and office guests. Clean pantry utensils and ensure the kitchen area is sanitary.
- Office Maintenance: Sweep, dust, and organize the office premises, meeting rooms, and workstations daily.
- Clerical Support: Assist with basic administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, filing, and sorting documents.
- Errands & Deliveries: Run outside errands, such as delivering documents to clients, banking, and picking up or purchasing office supplies.
- Supply Inventory: Monitor stock levels of pantry and stationery items, reporting shortages to management.
- Mail & Couriers: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and couriers to the appropriate departments.
Key Requirements
- Education: Minimum 10th or 12th pass from a recognized board.
- Experience: Prior experience in office support, hospitality, or housekeeping is preferred but not always mandatory.
- Soft Skills: Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy with strong time-management skills.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift light office supplies and handle active, on-the-go outdoor errands.
