Position Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations with a primary focus on GST compliance, statutory taxation, and meticulous record-keeping using Tally.
This role requires a professional who possesses a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to maintain financial integrity through precise data management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Oversee end-to-end GST compliance, including the preparation and filing of GSTR-1, 3B, and annual returns.
- Perform rigorous reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B with internal purchase registers to ensure accurate Input Tax Credit (ITC).
- Calculate and ensure timely deposit of TDS/TCS and assist in filing quarterly TDS returns.
- Stay updated on the latest amendments in tax laws to ensure organizational compliance.
2. Financial Accounting & Tally Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in Tally Prime/ERP 9.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Execute monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and inter-branch reconciliations.
- Verify and process employee expense claims and vendor invoices.
3. Reporting & Auditing
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheets.
- Generate comprehensive MIS reports to assist management in financial decision-making.
- Provide necessary documentation and support for statutory, internal, and tax audits.
Candidate Profile
- Professional Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven experience in a core accounting role.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Tally and MS Excel (including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and data visualization).
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com), or Inter-CA/Inter-ICWA.
- Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of Indian Accounting Standards, GST laws, and Income Tax provisions.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
