We are seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and passionate Economics Teacher to teach IGCSE Economics (Grades 9–10) and IB Diploma Programme Economics (Grades 11–12). The successful candidate will demonstrate deep subject expertise, excellent pedagogical practices, and a strong commitment to student achievement, critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and international education standards.
The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting examination success, mentoring students, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the institution.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Economics instruction aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB DP curriculum requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, and examination preparation resources.
- Utilize inquiry-based, student-centered teaching methodologies.
- Develop students' analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.
- Integrate real-world economic issues, case studies, and current affairs into classroom teaching.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare progress reports, grade records, and academic evaluations.
- Support students in Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and research projects where applicable.
- Monitor student achievement and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
Student Support & Mentorship
- Act as a mentor and academic advisor to students.
- Encourage intellectual curiosity and independent learning.
- Guide students in university preparation and economics-related academic pathways.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and development.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum review and enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty members to promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Stay updated with developments in economics, global affairs, and educational practices.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Contribute to school events, enrichment activities, clubs, and academic competitions.
- Maintain compliance with institutional policies and safeguarding requirements.
Required QualificationsEssential
- Master's Degree in Economics or closely related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in Economics at the secondary or higher secondary level.
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Economics and/or Cambridge IGCSE Economics.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Preferred
- IB-certified training in DP Economics.
- Cambridge assessment experience.
- International school teaching experience.
- Experience with online and blended learning platforms.
- Experience preparing students for high academic achievement in external examinations.

- Strong subject knowledge in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, and Development Economics.
