We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and result-oriented PGT Accountancy Teacher who can inspire students to develop a strong foundation in Accountancy, Business Studies, Financial Literacy, and Commerce-related disciplines while ensuring excellent academic outcomes in CBSE Board Examinations.
Position Summary
The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Accountancy will be responsible for teaching Accountancy to Classes XI and XII in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and National Education Policy (NEP 2020). The teacher will promote conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, practical application of accounting principles, and examination readiness while contributing to the overall academic development of students.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach Accountancy to Classes XI and XII as per CBSE curriculum requirements.
- Prepare annual academic plans, lesson plans, teaching schedules, and course outlines.
- Deliver engaging and student-centered classroom instruction using modern teaching methodologies.
- Explain accounting concepts through practical examples, case studies, projects, and real-world applications.
- Ensure completion of syllabus within stipulated timelines.
- Integrate technology and digital learning tools into classroom instruction.
- Conduct revision sessions, doubt-solving classes, and remedial teaching for students requiring additional support.
- Guide students in project work, practical assignments, and subject enrichment activities.
- Prepare students effectively for CBSE Board Examinations and competitive examinations related to commerce streams.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer periodic tests, unit tests, assignments, practical assessments, and examinations.
- Prepare question papers in accordance with CBSE examination patterns and competency-based assessment guidelines.
- Evaluate answer sheets and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Analyze student performance and prepare progress reports.
- Identify learning gaps and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain records of academic performance and assessment data.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Encourage active participation and collaborative learning.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and ethical financial practices.
- Ensure proper student attendance and classroom conduct.
- Create a respectful and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Student Mentoring & Guidance
- Act as a mentor and guide for students regarding academic planning and career pathways in Commerce.
- Counsel students on higher education opportunities such as:
- Chartered Accountancy (CA)
- Company Secretary (CS)
- Cost & Management Accountancy (CMA)
- Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Banking & Finance
- Economics and Management Studies
- Encourage participation in commerce-related competitions, seminars, quizzes, and workshops.
- Support students in developing financial literacy and business awareness.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and academic performance.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide timely feedback and academic recommendations.
- Collaborate with parents to support student achievement and development.

- Participate actively in school assemblies, events, celebrations, educational tours, and co-curricular activities.
- Contribute to examination duties, admissions processes, and academic planning activities.
- Assist in curriculum development and academic improvement initiatives.

QualificationsEssential Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com.) with specialization in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience as a PGT Accountancy Teacher in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- Proven track record of producing excellent board examination results.
- Experience in handling Classes XI and XII Commerce stream is mandatory.
- Freshers with exceptional academic credentials may be considered for suitable positions.
