Design & Estimation Engineer
Job Summary:
The Design & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing technical designs and shop drawings, and supporting the project team in delivering competitive proposals and high-quality solutions. This role bridges the gap between design intent and cost-effective project delivery, ensuring that client requirements are fully understood and met.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed designs based on client requirements and project specifications.
- Develop technical shop drawings, detailed joinery drawings, and construction details for approval and production.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance with standards.
- Review material specifications, propose alternatives where required, and support value engineering initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and drawing logs.
Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs for interior fit-out, joinery, or construction projects.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope and requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and material analysis to support accurate pricing.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness.
- Support in preparing tender submissions, commercial offers, and technical proposals.
Technical Support & Coordination
- Support project managers and site teams by clarifying design and cost-related queries.
- Attend site surveys and meetings as required to gather technical information and validate project scope.
- Assist in preparing presentations and mock-ups for client approvals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in design and estimation for interior fit-out, joinery, or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of interior finishes, materials, and production methods.
- Proven ability to prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates.
Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other 3D design software; familiarity with Revit or similar BIM tools is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to visit project sites as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
