Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating qualified leads, developing strong customer and influencer relationships, expanding market presence, and supporting the company's revenue growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, target-oriented, willing to travel, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for business development and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Conduct daily field visits in Erode and nearby locations.
- Identify new residential, commercial, and renovation projects.
- Generate business opportunities through site visits, referrals, networking, and market research.
- Identify potential customers and convert prospects into business opportunities.
- Maintain a database of leads, prospects, and project opportunities.
Market Development & Survey
- Gather information about builders, contractors, architects, engineers, plumbers, painters, and interior designers.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and business trends.
- Collect customer and project-related information for future business development activities.
- Classify leads as Hot, Warm, or Cold based on business potential.
- Update lead trackers and business development databases regularly.
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, architects, engineers, and key influencers.
- Promote company products and services to potential customers and business partners.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with prospects and existing contacts.
- Strengthen long-term business relationships and referral networks.
Business Promotion Activities
- Support local business promotion campaigns and marketing initiatives.
- Participate in exhibitions, trade events, awareness programs, and networking activities.
- Distribute company brochures, catalogues, and promotional materials.
- Increase brand visibility and generate business enquiries.
Lead Conversion & Coordination
- Coordinate with the sales and operations teams regarding business opportunities.
- Ensure timely follow-up of enquiries and project leads.
- Track lead progress, conversion status, and revenue opportunities.
- Support management in achieving business growth targets.
Reporting & Documentation
- Submit daily field visit and business development reports.
- Maintain records of leads, meetings, and customer interactions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly business development activity reports.
- Update management on market developments, competitor activities, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure proper documentation of all business development activities.
