We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and well-qualified Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in English to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to Senior Secondary classes (Grades 11 and 12), preparing students for board examinations and higher education.
As a residential school, this role also requires active involvement in our pastoral care program, including conducting evening/remedial classes and supervising students in the school hostel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic & Teaching Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Literature and Language lessons to senior secondary students in alignment with the school curriculum.
- Prepare students thoroughly for board examinations, competitive exams, and college entrance requirements.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies, digital tools, and interactive activities to enhance language proficiency and critical thinking.
- Organize and support co-curricular activities related to the English department, such as debates, declamations, creative writing, and drama.
2. Hostel & Residential Responsibilities
- Hostel Classes: Conduct mandatory evening preparatory/remedial classes for boarders to assist them with academic doubts, homework, and language reinforcement.
- Pastoral Care: Assist the Hostel Warden/Housemaster in maintaining discipline, monitoring student well-being, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment in the residential blocks.
- Mentorship: Act as a mentor to residential students, providing guidance, emotional support, and monitoring their overall personal and academic growth.
- Campus Life: Participate in and supervise evening meals, weekend activities, and campus events as part of the residential faculty rotation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Master’s Degree in English Literature/Language from a recognized university, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
- Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience handling senior secondary classes (Grades 11 & 12), preferably in a reputed residential school.
- Language Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are absolute prerequisites.
