We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and market-savvy Commodity Research Analyst to join our research team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous fundamental and technical analysis across key domestic commodity sectors—including Bullion, Energy, Base Metals, and Agri-Commodities traded on major Indian exchanges (MCX, NCDEX) as well as global platforms (COMEX, NYMEX, LME).
You will track macroeconomic trends, supply-demand balances, monsoons, import-export duties, and global geopolitical cues to generate actionable trading strategies, daily research reports, and client advisories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Price Forecasting
- Conduct detailed fundamental and technical research across major commodity segments:
- Bullion: Gold, Silver (global interest rates, RBI reserves, US Fed policy, USD/INR dynamics).
- Energy: Crude Oil, Natural Gas (OPEC+ policies, EIA inventories, geopolitical events).
- Base Metals: Copper, Aluminum, Zinc, Lead, Nickel (LME inventories, China demand/stimulus, industrial PMI).
- Agri-Commodities: Spices, Oilseeds, Pulses, Cotton, Weather (monsoon patterns, MSP policies, sowing reports, mandi arrivals).
- Track and interpret global economic indicators (US CPI, Non-Farm Payrolls, Central Bank rate decisions, GDP growth) and their direct impact on Indian domestic pricing.
2. Trade Idea Generation & Client Advisory
- Provide real-time intraday, swing, and positional trading calls for retail and institutional clients with clear entry, target, and stop-loss levels.
- Formulate hedging strategies (options, futures, spread trading) for corporate clients, importers/exporters, and physical trade market participants.
3. Reporting & Publication
- Draft high-quality research collateral:
- Daily Reports: Pre-market previews, mid-day alerts, and evening closing briefs.
- Weekly / Monthly Outlooks: Sectoral deep dives, macro overlays, and technical charts.
- Event Flash Reports: Immediate analysis of RBI policy, US Fed decisions, Union Budget announcements, and USDA reports.
4. System & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all published reports and research recommendations comply with SEBI (Research Analyst) Regulations, 2014.
- Maintain trade logs and track accuracy performance metrics across generated calls.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, or Financial Engineering.
- Preferred: Valid NISM Certification (NISM Series-XV).
Professional Experience
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in commodity research at a SEBI-registered broker, investment consultancy, or commodity trading house.
- Deep understanding of trade mechanics on MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange of India) and NCDEX (National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange).
- Proven track record in developing both technical chart patterns and fundamental supply-demand S&D balance sheets.
Technical Skills
- Financial Terminals: Expertise in leading chart tools, trading terminals.
- Technical Analysis Tools: Candlestick patterns, Moving Averages, RSI, MACD, Fibonacci Retracements, and Volume profile analysis.
- Data & Analytics: Advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of AI for quantitative analysis is a plus.
Competencies & Soft Skills
- Speed & Precision: Ability to process breaking economic news rapidly and convert insights into client-facing recommendations.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written English, Ready to take informative sessions to students, ability to present market views on media is a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Capacity to synthesize complex data points (e.g., crop sowing data vs. weather forecasts vs. government duty updates) into clear market views.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
