1. Job Purpose
To develop accurate and production-ready garment patterns from buyer specifications, tech packs, sketches, samples, and measurement charts. The Pattern Master will be responsible for pattern development, grading, fitting, alterations, and ensuring pattern accuracy before bulk production.
2. Key Responsibilities A. Pattern Development
- Develop patterns based on buyer tech packs, sketches, specifications, measurement charts, and approved samples.
- Prepare complete patterns for all garment components, including front, back, sleeves, collars, cuffs, pockets, plackets, waistbands, and other required components.
- Ensure correct seam allowances, notches, grain lines, balance marks, and construction details.
- Develop first patterns, sample patterns, and final production patterns.
- Modify existing patterns based on style and buyer requirements.
B. Sample Development & Fit
- Work closely with the sampling team and tailors for prototype and sample development.
- Conduct garment fitting and identify fit-related issues.
- Make necessary pattern corrections based on fit comments and sample evaluation.
- Ensure the final pattern achieves the required garment measurements, appearance, and fit.
- Coordinate with the Quality, Merchandising, IE, and Production teams for technical clarification.
C. Grading
- Grade patterns accurately for all required sizes according to the approved grading specifications.
- Ensure consistency of measurements and fit across all sizes.
- Verify graded patterns against measurement charts before releasing them for production.
D. Production Support
- Provide technical support to the Cutting, Production, Quality, and Sampling teams.
- Resolve pattern-related issues arising during cutting, sewing, or production.
- Analyze production problems related to pattern, fit, measurements, and construction and implement corrections.
- Ensure only approved and latest pattern versions are released for bulk production.
E. CAD / Pattern Management
- Develop and modify patterns using CAD software wherever applicable.
- Maintain digital and physical pattern records for all styles.
- Maintain proper version control and ensure obsolete patterns are withdrawn.
- Maintain pattern libraries and style-wise records.
F. Fabric & Consumption
- Consider fabric characteristics, shrinkage, stretch, grain, and construction requirements while developing patterns.
- Work with the CAD/Marker team to optimize pattern placement and reduce fabric wastage.
- Support the team in improving garment consumption without compromising fit and quality.
G. Coordination
- Coordinate with Merchandising for buyer comments and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with Sampling for sample corrections and approvals.
- Coordinate with Quality for measurement and fit requirements.
- Coordinate with Production and Cutting teams during style implementation.
- Guide junior pattern makers and sampling personnel whenever required.

4. Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Garment Technology, Apparel Production, Fashion Technology, Pattern Making, or a related field.
- Relevant technical qualification with strong practical experience in garment pattern making may also be considered.
5. Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience as a Pattern Master / Pattern Maker in the garment industry.
- Experience in export garment manufacturing and working with buyer specifications will be an advantage.
- Strong practical experience in sample development, garment fitting, pattern correction, and grading.
6. Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern making.
- Good understanding of garment measurements and fit.
- Knowledge of pattern grading and size specifications.
- Knowledge of fabric behavior, shrinkage, stretch, and grain direction.
- Ability to read and interpret tech packs, measurement charts, sketches, and buyer comments.
- Knowledge of CAD pattern-making software like Gerber or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of marker planning and fabric consumption.
- Ability to identify and rectify pattern-related quality issues.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
