Job Description – Arc Welder (Shipyard)
Perform ARC (SMAW) welding for shipbuilding, ship repair, and marine fabrication works, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of assigned jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out ARC welding on hull structures, decks, bulkheads, and marine components.
- Read fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Prepare welding joints and perform welding as per WPS.
- Inspect weld quality and rectify defects when required.
- Operate welding and cutting equipment safely.
- Follow safety procedures, hot work permits, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and housekeeping at the worksite.
- Coordinate with fitters, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel.
Qualification
- ITI in Welder Trade or equivalent.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy fabrication.
Skills
- Proficiency in SMAW (ARC) welding.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of marine safety practices.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to quality.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
