Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Ink Chemist to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic foundation in Chemistry and a keen interest in ink formulation, color science, and chemical manufacturing. Freshers with an M.Sc. in Chemistry are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will receive on-the-job training in ink formulation, quality testing, and production support.
Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Development
- Assist in the development and improvement of printing ink formulations.
- Conduct laboratory experiments under the guidance of senior chemists.
- Prepare and document trial formulations and observations.
- Support new product development and formulation optimization.
Laboratory Testing
- Perform routine testing of ink samples for viscosity, color shade, drying time, gloss, adhesion, pH, and other quality parameters.
- Record and analyze test results accurately.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness of the work area.
Production Support
- Assist production during pilot and commercial batches.
- Support troubleshooting of product quality issues.
- Help monitor consistency of formulations during manufacturing.
Documentation
- Maintain formulation records, laboratory notebooks, and test reports.
- Prepare technical documentation and sample reports.
- Follow SOPs and maintain compliance with quality standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals.
Educational Qualification
- M.Sc. in Chemistry (Mandatory).
- Specialization in Organic, Industrial, Polymer, Analytical, or Applied Chemistry will be preferred.
Experience
- 0–1 year (Freshers are welcome).
- Internship or academic project in paints, inks, coatings, polymers, or specialty chemicals will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of chemistry fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and analytical instruments.
- Good observation and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn ink formulation and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Knowledge
- Basic understanding of pigments, dyes, resins, solvents, and additives.
- Familiarity with quality testing procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices.
