Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Manual Milling Machine Operator to set up and operate conventional milling machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires strong machining knowledge, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate manual milling machines (vertical/horizontal) to machine metal or non-metal components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Set up workpieces using vises, fixtures, and clamps.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and job requirements.
Perform milling operations such as facing, slotting, drilling, contouring, and profiling.
Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
Carry out in-process and final inspection of components.
Maintain machine condition through routine cleaning and basic maintenance.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Report any machine faults, tool wear, or quality issues to supervisors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die Making or equivalent.
1–5 years of experience in manual milling operations (preferred).
Strong knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools.
Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T basics.
Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards.
Good attention to detail and precision work mindset.
Preferred Experience
Experience in tool room or precision machining industry.
Knowledge of different metals (MS, SS, aluminum, brass, etc.).
Exposure to job-based/custom machining environments.
Work Conditions
Shop floor environment with exposure to noise, coolant, and metal chips.
May require standing for long hours and handling heavy workpieces.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
