Job Summary
The OT Technician is responsible for assisting surgeons, doctors, and nursing staff in the smooth and safe functioning of the Operation Theatre. The role includes OT preparation, equipment handling, sterilization support, and maintaining infection-control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures.
Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, and required materials.
Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures as required.
Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of OT instruments and equipment.
Follow strict infection-control and aseptic protocols.
Check the functionality of OT equipment before procedures.
Assist with patient preparation and safe positioning for surgery.
Maintain OT stock and inform the concerned department about required supplies.
Handle surgical instruments and equipment carefully and safely.
Assist in cleaning and preparing the OT after each procedure.
Maintain required OT records, checklists, and documentation.
Follow biomedical waste management protocols.
Report equipment malfunction, shortage, or safety concerns immediately.
Be available for emergency surgeries and duty requirements as per hospital policy.
Coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and other clinical staff.
Qualification
Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or relevant qualification.
Relevant hospital/OT experience preferred.
Freshers may also be considered based on practical knowledge.
Required Skills
Knowledge of OT procedures and surgical instruments.
Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control practices.
Ability to work effectively during emergency situations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to patient safety.
Pay: ₹10,149.74 - ₹18,000.00 per month
