Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, BOQ preparation, budgeting, billing and cost control for residential, commercial, civil construction and interior fit-out projects. The candidate must have strong knowledge of materials, specifications, market rates and site measurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
· Study architectural, structural, MEP and interior drawings.
· Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs for civil and interior works.
· Prepare project estimates, rate analyses and execution budgets.
· Calculate material, labour, machinery and subcontractor requirements.
· Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
· Prepare client quotations, tender documents and commercial proposals.
· Verify contractor and supplier bills against actual site measurements.
· Prepare client running-account bills and final bills.
· Track project expenses and compare actual costs with approved budgets.
· Identify cost variations and submit timely cost-control reports.
· Prepare variation orders for additional or modified works.
· Conduct joint site measurements with engineers, contractors and clients.
· Coordinate with architects, interior designers, project managers, purchase teams and site engineers.
· Assist the procurement team with material specifications and quantities.
· Prepare reconciliation statements for major construction materials.
· Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate competitive rates.
· Maintain project-wise measurement sheets, billing records and cost reports.
· Support value engineering without compromising quality or design intent.
· Monitor wastage, material consumption and project profitability.
· Assist in project closure, final account settlement and documentation.
Required Qualifications
· Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
· Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimation Engineer.
· Experience in civil construction and interior fit-out projects is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis and billing.
· Good understanding of construction materials, interior materials and execution methods.
· Knowledge of Kerala market rates, labour rates and vendor pricing is an advantage.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
· Knowledge of estimation software such as PlanSwift, CostX or equivalent is preferred.
· Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing and interior drawings.
· Good analytical, negotiation, documentation and communication skills.
· Willingness to visit project sites when required.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
· Civil, masonry, plastering, waterproofing and flooring works.
· Painting, gypsum ceiling and partition works.
· Modular kitchen, wardrobe and custom furniture works.
· Plywood, WPC, laminate, veneer, acrylic and hardware specifications.
· Electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire-fighting quantities.
· Measurement standards and billing procedures.
· Material reconciliation and cost-variance reporting.
Key Performance Indicators
· Accuracy of estimates and BOQs.
· Timely submission of quotations and bills.
· Control of project costs within approved budgets.
· Accuracy of site measurements and contractor bill verification.
· Reduction in material wastage and unplanned expenses.
· Timely identification and documentation of variation works.
· Maintenance of accurate project cost and billing records.
Pay: ₹13,556.86 - ₹30,000.00 per month
